I assumed it was to keep users logging in until new levels are released, but it’s been weeks without them. They’ve added a loop of levels to play repeatedly, called “the ladder.” They are the same levels every 10 levels or so. I’ve run out of levels for exhibits and tasks, lvl 551 and lvl 576 respectively. I think this game is challenging and fun however, I may delete it because its producers don’t seem invested. How about you spend some money on better communication so horrible news like this doesn’t shock parents who had no idea this was coming. There are going to be lots of disappointed parents and grandparents.

I’ve had tons of issues with them (which I have contacted them about previously - including the time a photo of someone else’s child appeared in MY account) and while it is a very frustrating app to use, it was free and met my needs. I’ve been using Tinybeans DAILY since February 2015. I’ve shared my feedback on that via the all several times already. I HATE the ads and irrelevant articles they shove in my face. Yeah, no kidding! Tinybeans claims to becoming the “go to resource” for parents. If you purchased Family Premium, it sounds like you may be okay for now, but this offering has been “retired” and I received no communication about any of this until tonight where the email says there is some confusion and disappointment. Just got an email this will no longer be free. This would seem a major area of opportunity in an otherwise highly evolved, sophisticated, and delightful app! By using the actual date of birth rather than the estimated due date, the measurement percentiles used by the Tinybeans app end up being highly skewed toward babies born exactly at their due dates.

There is a publicly available set of alternate statistics for preterm babies that can be used, as well as variant benchmarks used by CDC and WHO (the app Growth+ includes two variants for each organization, plus the preterm variant). Another, more challenging, issue is this: the statistics should be calibrated to take account of where children are relative to due date, not actual date of birth, so as to take into account preemies (and ‘posties’).

Secondly, I recommend adding a similar measurement system for head circumference, since most doctor’s visits include that anyway, and is of higher importance in the age of Zika. My main recommendations so far would be to make it easier to correct errors entered into height and weight measures (as I learned from a very prompt and clear customer service person named Toni, this can be done by swiping left on a given measurement, but this is not intuitive, so some kind of indication on that page would be helpful). If you want me to pay double the price you better be providing double the service, or even the same service but NOT LESS. Terrible business practice and will DEFINITELY be looking for another app. This rollout came with zero warning from the company either. It seems ridiculous that I would pay $80 for the use of this album and am STILL limited in the number of photos that can be posted. Everyone likes to share photos of our child for others to enjoy. You mean I’m now expected to pay DOUBLE so that only two people can post unlimited photos? Our child has two parents and a set of grandparents who provide care for us. I wouldn’t even mind the jump if it didn’t mean a DECREASE in services available. I can totally understand cost of business going up.
We have a lot of out of town family that truly appreciates being able to watch our children grow.
Didn’t even mind when the price increased from ~$20 to $40 annually. We have been avid users of this app for over a year and a half. Price Increase to include LESS services available. Shame on you Tinybeans! How dare you force your loyal members $75 a year so you can become a “parenting” website instead of a simple photo calendar?

20 freaking photos? I take 20 photos in one day, how is this helpful or reasonable? I have 10 years of my Children’s lives on this app, and it breaks my heart to think of not uploading their photos going forward, but I’m so angry about the insane $75 price tag for something I’ve been using for free for 10 years. I also swear that I paid around $50 dollars several years ago to become a “lifetime” subscriber, but out of the blue just received notification that I can only upload 20 photos a month for free. They used to share fun pictures and involve users on social media, but now they are just charging us to post stupid parenting articles and memes. I have been using this photo calendar for over 10 years! I have been with them through so many changes and updates.
